Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to receive quite a few changes to its Supply Drop system soon enough that adds a new tier of rarity, in the form of the Legendary one, while retiring a few older items that are available through the random mechanic.

Advanced Warfare launched back in November of last year and delighted millions of fans across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms. It added quite a lot of new elements to the multiplayer mode, including a random drop system that awarded players with different types of gear when completing certain objectives.

The Supply Drop system is getting big tweaks soon

After making plenty of changes to the mechanic over the many months since the game's release, Sledgehammer now confirms on its website that more modifications are set to appear next month, first on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms.

First up, there's  whole new tier of rarity for gear available in the regular and advanced Supply Drops – Legendary. At the beginning only the special Sentinel CI Gear Set will be available in this category, which fans should remember as it was the reward for the very first Grand Master Prestige player in Advancned Warfare. Eight pieces are included and, as you can see above, they'll be highlighted with the color purple.

Meanwhile, Sledgehammer is also going to retire quite a few older items from the Supply Drop system. This means that sets like the Sentinel Mobile, Nigerian Infantry, or KVA Mercenary, not to mention weapons like the Atlas 45-A3, MP443 Grach Latitude and PDW CQB, will no longer drop in the random system.

Those who already got them will just see their names in red but can still use them in the Create-a-Class mode.

All these changes are coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 on June 9, right after the Supremacy DLC drops next week. PC, PS3, and PS4 owners will be able to enjoy the tweaks at a later point in time, probably in July.
