Video game developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are announcing that they will launch the first piece of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, called Havoc, on January 27 of next year.

The information comes from an official Twitter message from the studio and they also mention that the four new maps that gamers will be able to use in multiplayer matches are called Sideshow, Drift, Urban and Core, although at the moment no details about how each of them will play have been offered.

Havoc for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is also set to add the Exo Zombies game mode, which has been heavily teased since the shooter was first launched, which will allow four players to cooperate in order to stop waves of undead enemies, using the unique capabilities of the exo-skeleton each character has.

The A3-4 Widowmaker direct energy weapon is also included and those who have already bought the Season Pass or the DLC separately can already use it.

Sledgehammer Gamers is not yet saying whether the Havoc launch date of February 27 is only linked to the Xbox One and the 360, which has traditionally received access to content for the series before other platforms.

If that’s true, than gamers on the PlayStation 4, the PS3 and the PC will get access to all the content listed above at some point in February.

Sledgehammer Games and Activision promise that more details on Havoc for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be offered in the coming weeks.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare wants to occupy gamers for months

All titles in the Call of Duty series have very big launches, but with the most recent installment, the two involved companies are aiming to increase its longevity.

This means that another three DLC packs, apart from Havoc, will be launched in 2015, and Sledgehammer Games also says that it wants to introduce twists to game modes, all of them based on the feedback the community is offering.

The new title has introduced more innovation to the franchise than previous installments by adding the exo-skeleton as a major piece of equipment for both single and multiplayer.

The tech allows players to be more mobile in combat and there are a variety of abilities that can be attached to them in order to customize a character to the gamer’s play style.
