New details for Sledgehammer Games's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare have transpired, revealing what gamers can expect in terms of new gameplay mechanics and story.

The upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare seems like a genuinely interesting game, with an increased focus on narrative and all-new high-tech gadgets to make use of. What gadgets? Read on.

You'll be stepping into the shoes of Jack Mitchell, an ex-marine who is recruited by Atlas Corporation, an almighty tech behemoth headed by Jonathan Irons, who bears a striking resemblance to House of Cards' Frank Underwood, I don't know why.

The game benefits from some acclaimed actors' performance, with Troy Baker playing Mitchell and Kevin Spacey playing Irons, which should ensure that the story's delivery will be top notch.

The action takes place in 2054, when corporations are the most powerful military forces in the world, and the plot kicks off when Irons begins a war with the United States of America, in an attempt to tip the global balance of power.

The story will span 10 years of Mitchell's life, with Irons being a central character throughout the entire series of events. The devs have revealed that there will also be a female character with some considerable weight in the storyline, but her identity is yet to be revealed.

One of the most exciting things about the next installment in the tactical first-person shooter series is the addition of some sweet future tech, such as the exoskeletal suit that you'll be taking into battle, allowing you to do a bunch of interesting stuff.

As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock special points to upgrade the EXO suit between levels. The suit will have multiple abilities, also adding a bit of replay value to the campaign, for those who want to unlock and try out everything.

The EXO suit's most prominent feature is that it allows you enhanced freedom of movement, which translates into longer sliding, higher jumps and more dashing, allowing you to avoid gunfire and get to better positions faster.

Players will allegedly be able to dash even in mid-air, making for some truly never-before-seen mechanics in the Call of Duty series.

In addition to this, developer Sledgehammer Games has revealed that the game will feature completely overhauled enemy AI, much more intuitive and adaptive, that will make the entire experience feel more life-like and a lot more tense than in previous Call of Duty games.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is currently scheduled for release on November 4, for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
