Sledgehammer Games, the developer of the recently-revealed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, has talked a bit about the project overall and emphasized that it will have a focus on the story and an "amazing attention to detail."

Sledgehammer Games was formed many years ago by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, two veterans from Electronic Arts who wanted to work on the Call of Duty series for Activision.

The studio had been focused on its own project for some time but, due to the massive layoffs at Call of Duty founder Infinity Ward, the team helped the other developer with completing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

After that, Sledgehammer continued working on its own game and has finally revealed it last week, in the form of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

According to Glen Schofield, who acts as game director on the new title, Advanced Warfare will have an emphasis on story, in order to establish the new universe for the series.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and an honor for Sledgehammer Games. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the most ambitious and creative project we have ever worked on. From the endless research and thousands of production designs, to our incredible focus on the narrative and amazing attention to detail – we're taking nothing for granted."

"Call of Duty connects with the fans on such a deep level, and crafting a new vision for the next generation has been so inspiring for us," he revealed in an official statement.

Condrey also chimed in to say that Sledgehammer's team is one of the most impressive nowadays and will certainly help establish Advanced Warfare as the next big evolution for the first-person shooter series.

"Glen and I created this team with the singular vision of delivering the best work of our lives. We know we're stepping into some pretty big shoes, but every day I'm amazed at the talent and focus at work here touching everything from the story experience to multiplayer. We're excited to lead the next chapter in this great franchise, and we can't wait for November 4."

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in the future of 2054, in which wars are waged by Private Military Corporations (PMCs) and soldiers use different types of technologies, from exosuits to hoverbikes and much more.

The main antagonist is played by actor Kevin Spacey, so it's going to be interesting to see if the story in Advanced Warfare can finally shine.
