The multiplayer revealed for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is designed to show off the way the entire experience benefits from the new exoskeleton tech, and the team at Sledgehammer Games says that there’s no way to understand the game without it.

Glen Schofield, the co-leader of the studio, tells Eurogamer that “The exoskeleton is the key. We can hang anything on it. We can attach stuff to it. It is the heart and soul. We want you to fly. We want you to boost. We want you to do these things. And we can do them because that's what it allows you to do.”

He compared the exoskeleton to the iPad and believes that like developers have created apps for the Apple device, players will come up with new uses for the technology.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will introduce 12 modes on launch, including two new ones called Momentum and Uplink, and the game also features a new lobby system and more personalization options.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be out on November 4 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC, and last-gen consoles, and those who get the Day Zero version of the game by pre-ordering will be able to play one day earlier.
