Great news everyone! PlanetCOD has recently revealed that a demo for
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, PC version, is due out this Thursday. It will be a single player demo, but what the heck… how long have you been waiting for a hands-on experience with the title, right? Below, we'll be discussing some of the game's basic features, as showcased at this year's
E3.
First of
all, gamers will benefit from authentic and advanced weaponry, from an available arsenal of more than 70 new and authentic weapons and gear from assault rifles with laser sites, claymore mines, .50 caliber sniper rifles, and M-249 SAW machine guns. There will also be accessories, such as night-vision goggles and ghillie suits, for maximum concealment.
In this game, you'll not only have to be a fast gunman, but you'll also have to coordinate assault and support, as you'll be playing the modern battle from the soldier to the satellite, where the need for air support is critical to success. You'll be enlisting yourself to fast-rope from tactical helicopters, ride in an armada of attack choppers, use jets to remove enemy strongholds and even engage hostiles from thousands of feet above the ground.
Being next-gen and all, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will of course deliver stunningly beautiful cinematics, but also a great sound experience. Visual effects include:
- realistic depth of field
- rim-lighting
- character self-shadowing
- texture streaming
- physics-enabled effects
Last, but not least, we're going to share a feature that, although not available with the upcoming demo, is surely something you want to look into, for when the full version of the game is out - that's right, online multiplayer.
As confirmed in the same E3 fact sheet, multiplayer builds from the success of Call of Duty 2 delivering a persistent online experience for greater community interaction. Basically, players will have create-a-class options at their disposal, allowing them to customize gear that is best suited for play, to experience points enabling unlockables and perks, with matchmaking and leaderboards for the latest in tracking.
That's just about everything you needed to know about the game, so all you have to do now is come back on Thursday to get the demo. We'll have it ready for you first thing in the morning.
