Call of Duty 4 Hacks Will Be Solved, Infinity Ward Says

Its gotten to a point that you cant join a game that doesnt have 2 or more hackers in it. It is going to destroy the game. I have stoped playing and am considering not purchasing the version 2 coming out. They should figure out a way of banning the hackers from on line play in the fututre maybe locking there account if a hack or mod is detected.

I am a huge call of duty fan. I play this game everyday for an hour or more. lately i have been playing with alot of cheaters. and it makes me sick. it takes away for everythig the game is about. I saw a guy jump to the top of a 18 story building i turned off my system and went to sleep that pissed me off so bad. I hope iward fixes this issue.

The Hacks have definitly ruined the game. It isn't even worth playing any longer. I have been in some multiplayer games where an entire team was hacking. BOO! to hackers. BOO! to cheating. Enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played. You cheaters might as well be playing, "Duck Hunt."

I have 3 gold cross accounts, and I play cod4 almost every day for at least an hour or so (and have been since it came out). It was my escape. Then the hackers came and it was so unplayable that I had to retire from it completely. Twas a sad day in the gaming world for sure.

I too found that hackers were ruining the game for almost everyone so just last night i thought sod it. im not stopping playing the game i love for a bunch of Tpots so i decided to fight fire with fire. i had jus installed the hacks and whenever i come across a hacker i kill him everytime i see them but if there are no hackers (very rare) i dont use them atall.
maybe we shud all get it till its fixed and kill the peaople that abuse it?

I am a CoD 4 obsessive and like nothing more than knocking out an evening of Hardcore Search but every day there seems to be more and more hackers flying through walls and hovering above the maps! Personally i can't see the thrill in it as it looks pathetic and ruins the game for all us real gamers. Hope the next patch elliminates all these idiots so we can get on and enjoy the game

played cod now for well over a year, think its the best online game ever, these cheaters, hackers, whatever you want to call them are making the game unplayable, every time i go on now therea at least 3 or 4 of these spinless twats.

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH MW:2!

The game has been out for nearly 2 years now - obviously people are gonna find exploits this far into the game's lifetime.

IW will patch it, we can go back to enjoying it, and then we can enjoy MW:2 in November. Exploits will be found for MW:2, no doubt. But not for a while, and IW will probably be keeping a closer eye on it when it's released.

cod4 was the best online shooter i have ever played and it has been totally destroyed by the cheating hackers.ban them all.if u cant play it right dont play it at all

I USE to play COD4 for at least 2 hours a day and 5 on the weekdends. Its now to the point when I enter a Search and destroy game, Im the only player who isnt flying around. I die instantly, the game just isnt fun anymore. I bought W.A.W. and didnt play it much because cod4 is just so much better but now because of this I have gone back to the game and it sucks! They need to ban these players, not for 3 months but for life. It has ruined the game completely!

i hope when u send out the patch that it blows up the hackers ps3. its sad when people resort to cheating. they should be band from plaing online again.

i saw the grenade launcher glitch an infinte ammo its kinda cool but like when ur about 2 get a nuke some one is doing th javelin glitch and someone kills th dude and u run into it it gets u really mad i still play th game

I have bn playing modern warfare for a year ! I just can't stand playing with hackers ! I haven't played cod for almost 3wks cuz of all da hacking .. Suxs big time !

I play the game on PSN, and I too hate the hackers. I can't help but send each and everyone of them a dirty little message after playing a round. Still it is a little funny that these idiot cheaters keep returning to the same hack spot and I keep pickin them off with head shots from my .50 cal. They may be cheaters, but they are some of the dumbest cheaters I have ever seen. With that said the problem needs to be fixed and fast, I love this game and wanna continue to play it with out the hackers.

hello my name is jose polanco and my user name is GALIL_57 me and my clan are huge fans of this game, but lately with this problem im willing to say im hating the game, not the game itself but the cheating, i see no point in it, i think is the stupidest thing a person can do because at the end of the day you didnt do anything of what you think you did, i think playstation network or IW should find a way to band all the cheaters and dont let them play any game ever, at least online it will affect them because games will stop selling or will not sell as much as they do, but i can garantie them that if this kind of thing keeps happening they will not sell not even one game, people will see no point in having them!!!! and it will kill the online gameplay, i know im not playing against any fricking cheater that i know that any given day i can beat them with my eyes closed, no way!!!! solve the problem or lose your fans and game buyers, thatss it!!!!!!!

I'm glad that Infinity Ward is doing this. Cheaters seem to come up with new hacks every day just because they are weak in the game and I am flat out tired of it. Flying through the air, auto-aim, and never miss. We need these patches asap.

its funny this came up today becuase i just found someone doing it. its so stupid and it ruins the game. I find a hacker in so many games. its kinda annoying. hope this **** doesn't come up on MW2

I've been playing for about two years / all Golden weapons under two names / it really sux to be good at the game and have some punk using cheats or hacks hand you your hat everytime you turn around.
Hope you and punkbuster can ban the user key of such hacks and cheats . Can't wait for MW2 to come out, it'll be nice to play a clean game again / please put in the I AGREE that anyone caught using any type of cheat or hack will be banned from the game for life . Ban their key and IP adress I HATE PUNKS

I think they should have kept the hacks and glitches, like UFO mode, because cod4 has been out for a long time now so there should be more ways to make the game more fun. And this is a reassurance that the people who dont like the glitches and hacks will definitely buy modern warfare 2.

Stop crying... I agree that hackers should be banned but whining about it does nothing. I play for a few hours a day and have only ran into a couple of people with god mode when I do I just find a new server. The people who use glitches suck ne ways and glitches are just part of the game deal with it. Modded controllers don't even give u much of an atvantage ne ways I have one and don't even use it on most maps I use the mp5. If u don't like it quite playing ur a noob ne ways

the ufo hack has been patched but i was feeling the same way about the game didnt wanna play it any more 'cause all the hackers i usually play 3 t 4 hours a day this game is the best .

Yeah glitching is definitely not cool but it barely ever happens! Ive played call of duty for 14 days in total and ive probably only been glitched upon around 7 times
one of which was when the whole game speeded up and it was completley awesome shuld of had its own game mode!

At first it was nearly impossible but i actually learned that they had to turn it off to kill you. so i waited til the light bulb above there head went off or they landed. But if they hid in objects like crates and you didnt see them fly in there you were definately getting killed. I lost a lot of games but i started winning with a few of my friends. I reported about 40+ Hackers that first day. Hopefully
the people at playstation.com did something about it. I used an M4 with deep impact and shot at familiar spots they hide at and got a lot of kills. I'm just glad its over :)

I haven't played in awhile because my system is down, but several friends have complained about these hacks. I just wanted to put in my agreement: site ban is what is needed. And everyone out there that catches a hacker should report them. If you want to do something ridiculous like fly, get a game that includes that in the gameplay. Don't ruin this for the ppl who enjoy the game.

I can do a call of duty 4 or 5 or call of duty black ops 11p 15p 10p and a some more tell what u have like a xbox360 ps3 or anthik more so join my game and i give u the hacks

Did anybody think it odd that just before COD4 was launched, COD W@W connection started f*cking up; and now just before MW2 is launched a mysterious hack appears in COD4?

well obviously some mixed opinions then so how about if there was some servers just for hackers? like with no PB running and they can cheat all theyt want and have some servers who are strict on hackers to ban the ones that ruining the game for players that dont like to cheat?

Hackers on a whole need to be dealt with. Whether they are modding hardware or exploiting items in the game that the developers did not intend. Have some respect for the people that brought you the game and play it the way they meant it to be played. Your essentially making them not want to bring you the same quality titles because they have to put so many resources into fixing the game for cheaters because it is a huge problem. You cheat not to make the game more fun or interesting, but because you enjoy ruining everyone elses experience, which in itself is just ignorant and hateful. They really could help this if psn and xbox live were 18 and up. Get a life children.

The patch has been done and the hacks are now obsolete. Back to enjoying COD 4 and cant wait for COD:MW2. ps network suckmabaws if anyone wants to add me for some good time killing

BS, the hacks are still there through pc and xbox, IT HAS TO BE A FEW DEVELOPERS OF THE GAMES DOING THE HACKS, THEY MAKE MONEY ON THE SIDE FROM PEOPLE BUYING THE HACKS TO THE GAMES THEY DEVELOPE

Jealous because I can't do it? Really? I'm am not jealous or gonna spend the money to make someone rich who ruins a video game by creating ways to cheat. Expoiting is finding a glich in the game as it was created but hacking is even worse because you are purposely buying a second hand hack like aim bot because you don't have enough real skill to play the game without it...period.

hello my online name for the ps3 is aml209 i never hack but i glitch offline never hack well if you say glitch i mean like i just watch people on youtube an watch people go to hiding spots then i go there and snipe like you know the javelin glitch they hacked they patched it but i was only 12 i needed to rank up aster but i was only the 1st prestige an then a prestiged 2 th second rank then i never glitched no more

multiplayer for modern war 2

After a few days playing it I was apalled at how they ruined it by pandering to fantasy players

Movements too fast (players zip about at 5x any possible real speed of a human)

Too accurate (particularly snap firing of scope weapons - worse even when moving )

Knife attacks that happen in 1/8 of a second (and with the knifer running) there is no 2 sided melee fighing just way to fast ambush.

This leads to to easy long range attacks that make you have to move slow to find a target (or get sniped sticking your head out by a camper) and while you move slow thru cover some clown runs up behind you or even at you and has killed you with a knife before you can turn/aim a gun -- you cannot have any flanks that you are sure of as an enemy can be there on the circular paths waytoo fast (no peripheral vision of course makes it worse).

It was bad enough that people can run and you dont have time to aim before they are gone.

Its turned the whole thing into an dumb ambush game throwing out any reality.

Perks that you get with levels later enable gimmicky vehicles (that shoot down at players in the open or drop bombs on them) that similarly destroy any concerted/careful action/tactics. Most games Ive played had 50%-75% players with topped out levels (70) and the gimmicky vehicles seem to be up there every other minute (and with aiming system that a chimp could use)


All in all its pure fantasy with deaths extremely frequent and any game reduced to running around shooting anything in fromt of you before you die from someone doing the same to you.


Add ontop of that , all the cheaters (havent the dim developers yet have figured out to stop the hacks?? Theyve only had 15 years ??)



I thought I would play more to see how stupid it gets (burned to lev 18 in just a few days -- so I can see how chimps could get to 70). But now I look at it see one of the above stupidities they allowed happen and more often then not just turn it off as too stupid to bother playing.


Allegedly they are going to start charging people to play this multiplayer rot and think that many people wont which will leave most lobbys largely empty and with not enough players it will be a bust (and the retard developers will desrev it).

When are you all going to put a stop too hackers on playstation 3 infinty ward for Call of Duty 4 Call of Duty 5 and Modern Warfare 2 i've seen enough of God-Mode Mod's on Guns, 2 predator's stuck together, Cartoon Hacks looking through walls killing the other players getting AC--130's out of crates everytime stabbing someone miles up the hill on favela maps. Sony ruined it all for everyone letting others allowed to put slots inside the controller ports useing illegal cheats while others bought map packs to enjoy online gameing like it suppose to be. Instead of watching others useing aimbot's randomly getting a hack code to get past the vac making it disabled so the vac ban or stream will not catch them i've notice others standing around watching their guns kill me and others standing still i can't hold mine that still mine jumped like crazy their's are glued to the screen what's up with that? Seeing others invisible in thermal vision not like cold-blooded invisible. When you all going to take a stand and stop them its better to have honest gamers on the game instead of hacker's lock their accounts on them make'em go buy another ps3 to play online and then they do it again lock it as well maybe after a while they will get to the point to stop doing it and play it right these games are for entertainment not for hacking other players they are no since in it we the real gamers didn't intend to buy map packs for these games and be cheated in the process then watching it go on what is going to happen after wards in November 10, 2010 when black ops comes out their will be more cheater's going after that game as well then what after a few months past stop supporting it i don't think so because im not going to be one of those moron's to buy it. Let it stay on the shelves until moss and rust grows on it.

These worthless scum bags hackers are ruining Modern Warfare 2!!! I am lucky to find a legit map to play that does not have a hacking loser in it!! The game is no longer fun! Infinity will lose a lot of fans/buyers of their games, if they do not fix and boot all of the hackers!!

I think its pathetic these hackers have to cheat at a game. Nothing worse than a cheater, walks hand in hand with a liar and theif. Why don't they have maderators who have the power to boot these little pricks. I would rather watch a good game and ban people of this nature than play, so my fellow gamers can enjoy the games. Ban the little punks then penalize them for hacking, maybe then they'll quit, if not lets take it to the next level. theres ways to get their IP address so they can;t come back under another aka. If I were to be asked to do this I would in a heart beat.

Agreed that there definately should be moderators to kick all the cheaters out of the game.. Used to be a good game, but now it's just * .. practically every game I join is hacked, or there are cheaters under the map. Mainly little kids that do it though..

Also like you said there are ways to find their IP address, so they should be completely banned and not be able to just make a new account and cheat on that..

yes cheating changes everthing about a game makeing hard to play as normal. when play the game you should not have to be looking up in the sky and in the buildings and watching people underground when playing the game to much going on when there are cheaters. looking forward when running or move is normal not up in the sky up top building and trying to stop guys with crazy rockets from everywhere. cheating means your not good eough to get good.

i was hacked that i cant play online anymore. what should i do?

I was playing cage match and every kill i got was getting -23000. didn't think nothing of it backed out of the match after the other player started to cheat only to find out I was rank one and unable to play anymore. How do you fix this?

Whenever I play now, on ps3, in 2012! every two games i go to are Hacked in some sort of way, InfinityWard has NOT fixed the problem here! And I'm FED UP with ALL THE HACKING/MODDING/CHEATING PERIOD.
