Multiplayer glitches are tearing up the game

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the biggest games to appear in recent years. It has brought critical acclaim to the first person shooter series and has really changed the way development studios look at the single and multiplayer sides of their creations.

Given the fact that it is still one of the most played video games on online services like Xbox Live or on the PlayStation Network, you can clearly presume that its developer, Infinity Ward, is keeping a close eye on the proceedings, in order for every player to enjoy himself.

That is why when the newest batch of glitches and exploits were discovered by a few PS3 users, the team already started working on a solution. It seems that these problems were so bad that they rendered the game almost unplayable by regular users. Cheaters were able to get infinite ammo or even abilities like walking through walls or flying.

According to a recent Twitter message from Infinity Ward's director of communications and community manager, Robert Bowling, it seems that things will be fixed through a patch soon enough. “A patch is in the works for PS3 and Xbox 360 to address the recent COD4 exploits. I'll keep you posted on the progress,” Bowling said in the message.

The popularity of Call of Duty 4 is still quite high, especially as the title will soon get its direct sequel in the form of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Hopefully the development team will have learned their lesson and these problems won't be encountered by multiplayer users in this older title nor in the upcoming sequel.

Did these multiplayer hacks ruin your multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4 or did the cheaters manage to avoid your playing sessions? Leave us a comment with your opinion.
