Call of Duty 3 is a video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision Publishing. The game was
created for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony, the Xbox 360 and the Xbox from Microsoft, the Nintendo Wii. It was released in 2006. It is classed as a war shooter played from a third person perspective with sequences in first person view. There is a strong historical aspect evident in the game, with several real world battles simulated.
The Call of Duty series was initially released on the PC and the way it managed to capture the feel of war while delivering competent first person shooter gameplay impressed critics and gamers. The series was a success and console versions were quickly planned. Call of Duty 3 is one of the Call of Duty games released on gaming consoles.
The game is built around the story of Operation Cobra in Normandy, France, and a World War II operation which United States Army General Omar Bradley planned to break out from the Normandy area after the D-Day landings. You play as the four allied sides with American, Canadian, British and Polish soldiers taking part in 14 chronological single player missions until the liberation of Paris. You have to play through each section of the game in succession, as a new mission is unlocked only once you complete the one before it. The game is heavily scripted, with some of the larger operations depicted in minute details and with the player often being relegated to a minor role on the battlefield as the great clash happens all around him. The production values of the title are very high, with great music and brilliant voice acting.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Night Drop mission: Easy completion
When you meet up with the French rebels you will have a choice to go left to the Flak 88s or go through the house to the right. Go left to the guns. Kill all the Nazis around the gun and in the ditch leading to the next gun. Then, blow up the 88 and move on to the rest of the guns. After you blow up all the guns you will reach the house that you would have had to take if you went right. When you go in the house you must defeat a Nazi that is standing there waiting for you. Kill all the enemies in the house and fall through the burning floor. You will see you allies there waiting for you.
The Island mission: Best gun early
On the second mission, "The Island", there will be a man under the second bridge with a FG42 scoped. That gun will get more ammunition every time you kill someone. The gun starts with 96 ammos remaining and you can kill about 150 people with it (not including melee). After completing that mission you will have that gun on the third mission, but you must save the gun through the third mission to get it in the fourth mission and so on.
