Call of Duty 3 is a video game developed by Treyarch and released by Activision Publishing. It was

created for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony, the Xbox 360 and the Xbox from Microsoft, the Nintendo Wii. The title was launched in 2006. It is classed as a war shooter played from a third person perspective with sequences in first person view. There is a strong historical aspect evident in the game, with several real world battles simulated.

The Call of Duty series was initially released on the PC and the way it managed to capture the feel of war while delivering competent first person shooter gameplay impressed critics and gamers. The series was a success and console versions were quickly planned. Call of Duty 3 is one of the Call of Duty titles released on gaming consoles.

The game is built around the story of Operation Cobra in Normandy, France, and a World War II operation which United States Army General Omar Bradley planned to break out from the Normandy area after the D-Day landings. You play as the four allied sides with American, Canadian, British and Polish soldiers taking part in 14 chronological single player missions until the liberation of Paris. You have to play through each section of the game in succession, as a new mission is unlocked only once you complete the one before it. The game is heavily scripted, with some of the larger operations depicted in minute details and with the player often being relegated to a minor role on the battlefield as the great clash happens all around him. The production values of the title are very high, with great music and brilliant voice acting.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

The Mace mission: Scoped FG42

When you get to the part where you must keep the Nazis from the trenches, do not listen to the men. Go to the right and follow the path. You will find an FG42 scoped leaning on a crate.

Saint Lo mission: Capturing the church

In Chapter 1, Saint Lo, to capture the church you must kill all of the Nazi soldiers. It is best to use the Thompson gun in your arsenal. Once you have killed all of the Nazis in sight, go up to the church and throw two or three smoke bombs in it. After that, throw two grenades in the church while the smoke is still active. Once you have done that, you will be able to go to your destination, capture the church, and be able to move on.
