The series was a success and console versions were quickly planned. Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is one of the Call of Duty titles released on gaming consoles.
The game tells the story of a new recruit who gets into the Big Red One infantry division, one of the most celebrated units in the American Army. You have to play through each section of the game in succession, as a new mission is unlocked only once you complete the one before it. The game is heavily scripted, with some of the larger operations depicted in minute details and with the player often being relegated to a minor role on the battlefield as the great clash happens all around him. The production values of the title are very high, with great music and brilliant voice acting.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Staying alive
The best way to stay alive is to crouch down, but do not lay down. Find good cover, and any chance you have, get a machine gun or a semi machine gun. When you are crouched down, remain that way. It makes you a smaller target and it does not affect how fast you run. Also, the health packs are not very rare, but you still have to look for them. If there is a room that you do not have to go into, you may as well look in it regardless.
Replacement sniper rifle
If you do not have a Springfield sniper rifle, the M1 Garrand also works well. Pick up an M1 and as much ammo as you can for it. When you reach a location where your squad moves forward and enemies are all over, stay slightly farther back from your squad. Crouch behind cover. Equip the M1 and hold L1. You can shoot people from a good distance away. Hit the, in the head down to the stomach and it should be a one hit kill. This is very useful when there is a large amount of enemies in an area.
