The series was a success and console versions were quickly planned. Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is one of the Call of Duty games released on gaming consoles.
The game tells the story of a new recruit who gets into the Big Red One infantry division, one of the most celebrated units in the American Army. You have to play through each section of the game in succession, as a new mission is unlocked only once you complete the one before it. The game is heavily scripted, with some of the larger operations depicted in minute details and with the player often being relegated to a minor role on the battlefield as the great clash happens all around him. The production values of the title are very high, with great music and brilliant voice acting.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Africa tank mission
When you get past the two 88s you will have to go through Panzers. To avoid losing health, stay behind the building but get slightly closer so that you can see the Panzer. When you shoot at the side, the other tanks will help you take it out. Do the same thing with the second one and blow up all the trucks you see.
In the first Africa tank mission, you will arrive at the depot and meet two tanks. Then, you will meet four more closer to where the buildings are located. The four tanks take out a lot of your other tanks. If you want to keep them alive, try to pass them in the turn and head in first, but make sure you have full health. Try to take out at least two, then the others will take care of the rest.
Bomber mission
In the bomber mission, at the end it will allow you to choose any machine gun turret to defend the plane from. It is recommended, at least under the hard difficulty setting, that you stay at the back turret. It takes too long to get to the front, and your plane may get shot down.
