A new version of the famous eBook editor and viewer Calibre has been released, and it's packed with a ton of fixes for various issues, small or important.

Calibre is a powerful application that allows users to view, edit, convert, or even download eBooks. It's very complex, and it has many features, which means that the developers need to release fixes all the time. Even if it's updated almost on a weekly basis, it doesn't mean that Calibre is not stable, just the opposite.

To make things even more interesting, new features are constantly added, not to mention support for some of the newest devices out there. Calibre is capable of managing the eBook library of basically any device that is capable of displaying such formats. The community also plays a large part in the development, and most of the changes done to the apps are based on suggestions or reports from users.

Calibre 2.26 is full of fixes

Regular Calibre users are used to seeing all kinds of new stuff every week, but this latest version is not big on new features. In fact, there are none. The developer has added support for the latest Kobo Glo HD, but that's pretty much it.

On the other hand, according to the changelog, elements that contain a comment are no longer causing the conversion to fail, the display names of libraries containing the ampersand character is now shown correctly, sorting files by extension has been refined, the search & replace wizard in the conversion dialog is working properly once more, setting a tag to empty no longer causes an unhandled error, and a regression that caused the viewer to occasionally skip the last page has been corrected.
