Calibre is one of the best eBook management software available right now, but its strength lies in the abundance of plugins available for it.

This week we’ll take a look at an interesting extension called "Count Pages". According to the developer, this plugin will determine the number of pages and/or words in a book and store the result in custom column(s).

Moreover, with the Count Pages plugin Kindle users can generate APNX files using the value from a page's custom column, which means that when sending a book from Calibre, it will indicate a similar value, like the book loaded from Amazon.

It can be easily installed from the Preferences menu or from the official forum, and it needs version 0.8.57 or higher of Calibre. A comprehensive tutorial about its usage can also be found on the above forums.

You can also check out our review of Calibre.

Download Calibre 0.8.61 right now from Softpedia.
