Version 1.23 of eBook reader and management software Calibre has been released, and a large number of changes and improvements have been implemented.

According to the developer, a tool to easily change the current paragraph (the paragraph containing the cursor) to a heading has been added. Users only have to simply click the button with “H1” on it and choose the heading level they want the current paragraph changed to.

Also, when users are employing the Replace All function, a button is now displayed in the replaced message to show exactly what changes have been made and to allow them to be undone.

Highlights of Calibre 1.23:

• The closest surrounding tag is now highlighted when editing HTML/XML; • When checking books, the application now detects case mismatches between links and the filenames of the files they point to and offer to auto-correct the links; • A “copy to clipboard” button has been added for when duplicates are found during the adding process. This is very useful if the user wishes to review the list of duplicates later; • The Linux installer now provides appdata files for integration with software stores; • A checkpoint is now provided when the book is first opened for editing; • A fix for a bug in AZW3 support that could cause images/fonts to get mixed up when saving and re-opening the book multiple times has been implemented.
