The freshly released Calibre 0.9.30 (review for Windows here) brings to the table a few new features and several bug fixes designed to improve overall functionality of the application.

The popular ebook manager now includes a tweak to disable highlighting of the book count when using a virtual library. You can find the option in the configuration panel of the program, under the “Tweaks” section.

Also new is support for keyboard shortcuts to clear the virtual library and imposing various restrictions. Furthermore, the new release can read the language of DOCX items, if present in the metadata.

As far as repairs are concerned, the developer addressed a couple of regression. One of the bugs would break the search for the queries with quotation marks, while another affected the conversion of TXT files when no input encoding had been specified.
