Version 0.8.53 of the e-book reader and management software Calibre has been announced on May 25th, with some important new features and fixes.
Calibre 0.8.53 repairs a troublesome bug that prevented Kindle 4 to display thumbnails for book uploaded via USB, but it also implements some other features.
Highlights of Calibre 0.8.53:
• Updating metadata in FB2 files is now supported; • An option to prevent the up and down arrow keys from scrolling past page breaks has been added; • Setting negative page margins is now allowed; • ebookshoppe.com was rmoved at the website's request ; • A regression in 0.8.51 that caused conversion to HTMLZ to not have any CSS has been repaired; • Workarounds for LibreOffice 3.5's habit of inserting pointless margin:100% directives everywhere have been implemented.
