The new format supported is used by Amazon, with Kindle Fire

Version 0.8.42 of the e-book reader and management software Calibre, has been announced on March 12th, some important new features and a lot of fixes.

Calibre 0.8.42 comes with support for the new KF8 format and is able to convert MOBI files with this particular formatting.

Highlights of Calibre 0.8.42:

• A tweak to Preferences ->Tweaks to control the font size used in the book details panel was added; • Allow specifying a list of file types to exclude when automatically adding files from a folder; • When setting metadata in EPUB ensure that the <meta name=cover> tag has its name attribute first; • Novo 7, LG G2x and Zenithink T-280 driver; • Linux binaries to Qt 4.8.0; • The download bulk metadata completed popup causing a crash if the Esc key is pressed was fixed.
