Version 0.8.34 of the e-book reader and management software Calibre, has been announced, updating some drivers and some conversion options.

The most important change in Calibre 0.8.34 is an updated Apple driver which allows users to set the year field in iTunes, based on the published date in Calibre.

Other important changes include an updated Kindle driver for Kindle 4 and Touch, which ensures that page counts are correctly sent to the device when connected to the application, an update for EPUB input, an update for MOBI input, and some new and improved sources.

There are also a few bugfixes which solve rare crashes and a regression in Calibre 0.8.31, which broke parsing of documents containing a self closing <title/> tag.
