Sandlot Games-developed sequel out this summer. Wii port also in the works

Everyone remembers Cake Mania right? You know, one of the first top-50 titles available for free download in an advertising-supported model...? That's the one! Well, good ol' Majesco Entertainment the game's original developer, Sandlot Games, have announced a sequel for the DS version of the game. Digital Embryo is handling the development for DS (the first to come out), while a Wii port is also being planned.

"Cake Mania's fast-paced, addictive gameplay has created a tremendous following of franchise fans," said John Merchant, Marketing Manager, Majesco Europe. "With a wide range of feature enhancements, Cake Mania 2 for the DS offers tremendous depth while retaining the same core gameplay mechanic that made the original a handheld success."

Cake Mania 2 has players using the stylus to lead Jill through more than 200 different levels of baking and frosting madness that include 50 kitchen upgrades which players can buy with cumulative bakery earnings. Cake-bakers must work quickly and accurately to please an all-new demanding customer base that includes federal agents, rock stars, grannies and even aliens Players get to visit exotic locations like an underwater theme park and outer space.

Cake Mania 2 for the Nintendo DS is due out this summer. Majesco promises to reveal details on the Wii port of Cake Mania in the nearby future.
