Excerpts from the Vanity Fair interview emerge online, put momager and ex-wife in a rather negative light

Kris Jenner wasn’t the most understanding or the nicest woman to be married to for 23 years, Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, tells the latest issue of Vanity Fair, whose cover she graces. Kris and Bruce separated in 2013 and divorced in 2015, shortly before Bruce came out as a transwoman.

During their marriage, particularly in the later years, when coverage of the entire Kardashian - Jenner family reached unprecedented proportions, rumors started seeping into the media about Bruce’s cross-dressing and plans to transition to female.

The family didn’t confirm them at the time (on the contrary, several denials were issued), but they later admitted that this was partly to blame for the crumbling marriage between Kris and Bruce. But that wasn’t all that was wrong with it, Caitlyn tells VF (quotes via Daily Mail).

Kris was horrible to Bruce

In last month’s E! special Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, Bruce confronted his now-ex-wife to tell her that he believed they would still be married if she hadn’t treated him so badly. It was her refusal to let him cross-dress around the house and ultimately to even talk about how he felt inside that pushed him farther away.

The stricter Kris was, the more shut-in Bruce became, not even considering the possibility of telling her that he felt like he was trapped in the wrong body, that he should be a woman.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Caitlyn reiterates this and adds that being in control at all times turned Kris into a mean woman.

“Then really around the show, when that hit and she was running the whole show and getting credit for it and she had her own money, she didn’t need me as much from that standpoint… I think in a lot of ways she became less tolerant of me. A lot of times she wasn’t very nice. People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money, all that kind of stuff,” Caitlyn explains.

She reckons Bruce and Kris’ marriage ended because of his gender issues (about 20%) but mostly because Kris was horrible (the rest of 80%).

Bruce was mostly to blame, Kris responds

As noted above, because of the About Bruce special, the world already knew of this situation at home. However, in her interview, Caitlyn is done mincing words and calls a spade a spade: Kris wouldn’t accept the reality of what was happening to Bruce, his situation didn’t fit into her idea of the Kardashian “brand,” and all she did was only for her own interest.

This is quite a negative light to shine on showbiz’s most famous momager, who doesn’t have such a nice reputation to begin with. A denial has already been issued, as was to be expected, the British tab reports.

In it, Kris says that friction within the marriage came from the fact that Bruce couldn’t be who he wanted to be, which made him lash out. His social anxiety, caused by knowing he wasn’t the person he knew he should be, put even more pressure on the marriage, which eventually caved under all the weight.

“All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was [expletive] off,” Kris adds.
