Caesar, the historical city builder has been available on mobiles for some time now. The PC game it was adapted from has been a great success and the mobile version seems to be following on its footsteps.

Vivendi Games Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games, has announced that the above mentioned mobile game has been awarded Best Mobile Game of the Year in the "Strategic" category on German mobile website Airgamer.

"In a market where strategy games are so popular, and so many good ones are published, it is a great achievement for Vivendi Games Mobile to receive the Mobile Game of the Year award for the category for Caesar," said Paul Maglione, President of Vivendi Games Mobile. "Awards based on user participation are always the most pleasing to win, so I would like to thank the many Caesar fans who voted for the title for their support. "

Just like in the PC game (now in its fourth edition), the players of Caesar for mobile phones take the role of an aspiring provincial governor within Caesar's empire with the goal of building and managing a Roman city.

Players will be able to design the layout of each city, choose between 25 buildings and create industry, commerce and services, while facing certain challenges and protecting their city against disease, natural disasters or neighboring enemies aiming to conquer your territory.

Aside from that, players will be able to conquer nearby cities and provinces to increase power or build trade routes for commerce. Grow your city, keep your citizens happy and you might eventually even become Caesar.

The mobile game is available for more than 600 mobile phone models throughout Europe and the Americas from most wireless network carriers.
