Cabela's Alaskan Adventures, which is also known as Cabela's Big Game Hunter: 10th Anniversary
Edition - Alaskan Adventure when played on a Windows platform, is a hunting video game that was produced and published by Activision for the Xbox 360, the Playstation 2 and the PC. It was launched in 2006 and is classed as being a hunting simulation game played from a first person perspective.
It allows the player to go from the North Slope to Ketchikan and explore 12 Alaskan regions as you embark on the hunting and fishing adventure of a virtual life time. The structure of the game makes it so that the player begins all the areas and all the missions in an outpost. This allows you to customize his gear using thousands of real world pieces of equipment so that you are better prepared to confront the challenge ahead. There are some 20 pieces of Alaskan trophy game that you can pursue. They include: Kodiak bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and arctic fox.
The fishing element of the release includes off coast areas, inland lakes and streams. There are ten species of fish that you can catch, including sockeye salmon, Dolly Varden and arctic char. The game even has an underwater camera which shows you the battle to catch the fish.
There are also mini-games, including dog races across the arctic, snowmobile and ATV action.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Ammo boxes
When in the first region of Adventure mode, go down to the shooting range. At the 25 yard target range there will be a box of twelve shells. Watch throughout the levels for more hidden ammo boxes.
Go to the right of the firing range. You will see a well. On the ledge of the well you will see a box of ammo. It contains twelve casings.
Free ammo
Go to the lodge and buy ammunition. It should be free.
