Social media users have been mocking the point-of-sale receipts handed out at CVS Pharmacy.

Apparently, a receipt for bubble gum can end up being as long as two thirds of an adult's body and just about as tall as a child.

Many have poked fun at the length of the receipts online, joking about being able to use them as toilet paper and even reading the sports section off them.

The Daily Finance relays a statement by CVS, in which they explain how the receipts are that long because they include coupons.

It seems to be cheaper to print them on receipt paper than coupon paper, but they are considering modifying their process for people that are not interested in the coupons.

"We truly appreciate all customer feedback and are currently working on additional ways to reduce the length of the receipt for customers that do not want to physically print their coupons in 2014," a spokesperson says.
