CUPS, a software used to print form applications and to convert the page descriptions produced by applications into a signal that a printer can understand, is now at version 1.7.

After a few development builds, the final release of the Common UNIX Printing System has arrived with a lot of changes and new features.

Highlights of CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) 1.7:

• The network backends now use the prtMarkerSuppliesClass property to determine the direction of supply level values;
• The scheduler now removes the backup PPD files when a printer has been deleted;
• A couple of memory leaks in ippfind, that have been reported by Clang, have been fixed;
• A compile error in libcups has been corrected.

A complete changelog can be found in the official announcement. Download CUPS 1.7 right now from Softpedia.
