CUPS, a software used to print form applications and to convert the page descriptions, produced by applications into a signal that a printer can understand, is now at version 1.7 Beta 1.
Highlights of CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) 1.7 Beta 1:
• A --with-rundir option, that can be used to change the transient run-time state directory, has received support; • PPD lookups for classes are now supported by the scheduler; • A new "-x" option has been added to the cancel command; • The ipptool utility now supports compression; • New IPP APIs have been added.
