Though more and more makers of tablets are choosing the Android OS over Windows, there are still those that go for the former, such as CTL, whose 2goPad SL10 has apparently been given a shipment date of October 15.

Some months ago, quite a number of companies were intent on releasing tablets loaded with Windows, but the Android OS has been gaining headway.

Not only that, but HP has also shifted its focus towards the webOS and will be selling slates pre-loaded with it.

Nevertheless, Windows-loaded tablets are still on the minds of hardware makers, as is made evident by CTL, the company that also collaborates with Intel on the Classmate PC.

The outfit has almost finished preparations for the launch of the 2goPad SL10 PC slate and has even disclosed the exact availability date.

The tablet runs on the Intel Pine Trail platform, the exact CPU used being the Atom N450, which has a clock speed of 1.66 GHz.

This chip is backed up by 2GB of RAM and a hard disk drive whose total internal capacity is of 250 GB.

The configuration also includes the obvious integrated graphics, which have full reign over the 10.1-inch LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen display, whose native resolution is of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Other specifications include the full collection of connectivity and I/O options, such as a 1.3 megapixel webcam and, 10/100 LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth and a SD card reader.

Finally, the entire electronic is kept operational by a 4-cell battery that can supposedly last for up to 5 hours on a single charge.

Those interested can see the product in detail on the official product page that its maker has already set up on its official website.

As for when it will finally show up, shipments should start to be carried out on October 15, for a price of $499. Needless to say, the operating system loaded on it is Windows 7 32bit.
