To be released soon via Sprint

One of the newest mobile phones to come from Motorola is Moto V950, a handset that was announced during CTIA Wireless 2008 (1 - 3 April, Las Vegas) and will hit the US market via Sprint.

Sprint apparently tries to grow quickly this year (although its current 53 million subscribers are enough to make it a big carrier already), as it announced no less than 8 new phones to be released in the months to come. Among them, Motorola V950 doesn't come with features that can wow users (like Samsung Instinct, for example), but it's still a pretty good handset.

Coming in a clamshell form factor, Moto V950 measures, when closed, 4.1 x 2.1 x 0.66 inches (104 x 53 x 16.7 mm), weighs 4.16 ounces (118 grams), and has a "rugged design" which makes it suitable for use even in extreme and unfriendly conditions. Furthermore, the phone offers dual-band CDMA connectivity (800 and 1900 MHz), GPS (to go with Sprint Navigation), a 2.2 inch internal display with 240 x 320 pixels and 262k colors, Nextel Direct Connect with push-to-talk (PTT), Media player, stereo Bluetooth, Instant Messaging, email, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store, a 2.0 Megapixel photo camera and a standard Li-Ion 1100 mAh battery that should provide a talk-time of up to 4 hours.

Motorola V950 will only be available from Sprint and only in black. Or at least this is the case for the Rugged Edition of the clamshell. Anyway, since there are no details about a non-rugged version, we guess that all users who want to own a Moto V950 will have to sign a contract with Sprint - if they haven't done that yet.

Sprint did not mention Motorola V950's price, but this will be unveiled in the second half of the year, when the handset is planed to be released.
