Adobe Systems has officially announced they will launch their much awaited Creative Suite 3.0 at a special event to be held in New York on the 27th of March. The event will be webcast live starting 8 30 pm, UK time.

There have been several rumors about CS 3 launch in late March, and there were also words the launch would synchronize with the release of Mac OS X 10.5, the Leopard. Well, judging by the latest seed build Apple made available for developers, I sincerely doubt the Cupertino-based company will manage to wrap the operating system up before the end of March, so it's unlikely they will synchronize with Adobe.

Adobe has made no official statements about the features and applications of Creative Suite 3.0, but they said it would be "the largest software release in Adobe's 25-year history."

The release of CS3 has been highly anticipated. This the first version that will natively run on Intel-based Mac computers. The launch of CS3 is expected to trigger a significant boost in Apple sales for Mac Pros and Pro hardware. Analysts agree the new Creative Suite will have a positive impact on Apple high-end hardware sales.

This release will include Dreamweaver CS3, that would take the place of GoLive as a web authoring application and Fireworks CS3, replacing the Image Ready. It is said Adobe has planned six different bundles of the Creative Suite package, containing various combinations of CS applications with various price tags.

Adobe has previously made public their intention of making available on-line an entry-level version of Photoshop as a web service. On the Adobe website, you can see a short teaser announcing the new CS3, 'spin the box' and find out what's it about.
