CPU-Z has been updated to a new build, but contrary to what users have been accustomed to in the previous versions, i.e. extended support for new hardware, the current release is a minor one.

The change log is just two entries long and one of them tackles a problem with incorrectly displaying the CPU clock speed under the upcoming Windows 8. The other entry available for CPU-Z 1.60.1 announces that the application supports Intel Xeon E5 processors.

The application is available both as a binary as well as a portable download (ZIP package), in English and Chinese, for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.

CPU-Z is designed to help you retrieve information about the main devices on the system. It can offer information on the CPU, motherboard, as well as RAM.
