You can now watch your breaking CNN stories in even higher detail with the newly-enhanced CNN App 1.6 for iPad. The new release adds support for the two million pixels residing on the new iPad’s screen.

According to the release notes for the CNN App for iPad 1.6, the network (as well as whoever they contracted to code the app) has “enhanced imagery to support the iPad’s high res retina display.”

It isn’t immediately clear whether the change occurred on the CNN backend (where content is being served), or on the iPad app itself. But it has been updated to support the new spec, that much we can say for sure.

CNN App for iPad is solely compatible with Apple tablets and requires iOS 3.2 or later. You can grab it below for free.
