The news outlet has reported about a suspect being in police custody

CNN is getting negative feedback over jumping to conclusions about the arrest status in the Boston Marathon bombing.

According to ENStarz, the news channel has cited a police source speaking about having their hands on the suspect.

“We got him,” the source said.

However, it appears that they were speaking about having a lead on a suspect, instead of actually having one in their custody. The CNN coverage has sparked several reports mentioning an arrest in the case.

"Contrary to widespread reporting, no arrest has been made in connection with the Boston Marathon attack. Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate," an FBI spokesperson clarifies.

As I said earlier today, after browsing through more than 2,000 photos and videos sent in by the public, the FBI have something to go on now.

Two separate clips show a suspect described only as “dark-skinned” dropping off a duffel bag consistent with descriptions from the scene in the area where one of the bombs was set.
