TIPS AND TRICKS

" CMS Made Simple " Challenge

- Simplify the publishing of your web content

By: Catalin Bocanu, Web News Editor

A Content Management System (CMS) is a complex tool that makes the process of website creation and maintenance much easier. The site design and content creation are separated and in this way the web developer can focus better on both of them. Everybody needs to deal with simple things in
general.

When you need to rapidly deploy a news website or a photo gallery for example, there are many options available on the Internet. CMS Made Simple is a full featured open source content management system made with PHP programming language on a MySQL database backend. It allows you to develop websites with an easy to understand administration panel. As its name says, the content creation with this CMS is simple.

You can select from many predefined templates available for the site front end and also you can customize them to suit your needs. For the particular case of a news website or a photo gallery, this content manager offers you simple methods to finalize your projects in short time.

For example, if you need to create a news website, the creation of the templates and adding the content are a breeze. From the administration panel, you select Content, then News. You will be able to define the news categories and templates. After that operation you will be able to add new articles using a very friendly WYSIWYG text editor. The change of the site layout can be done only with a few mouse clicks.

For an image gallery, the Album module (you must install it first) lets you define new galleries and then add pictures in different categories also defined by you. You will be at least surprised how simple it can be for you to develop a website or solve some other development problems employing the power of CMS Made Simple features. If you test it, you will notice how it will simplify your actions by providing a high flexibility in content management and publishing.
