Since there is a new graphics card up for sale, people are going to build new gaming PCs, which means that there will be a period of heightened interest for related hardware, something CM Storm wants to capitalize on.

CM Storm has formally introduced its newest gaming-related piece of hardware, specifically a peripheral for those who don't mind paying for quality and aesthetics.

The product is a keyboard bearing the name Trigger and featuring 18K gold-plated ultra-low latency USB connectors.

The plural is used because, in addition to the USB port, Trigger integrates a two-port USB 2.0 hub, so that other peripherals may be linked to the PC through it.

That is only secondary in terms of importance, however, though not by much.

What people will really benefit from, especially those who play games in need of multi-key presses, is the anti-ghosting capability.

Up to six keys can be held down at the same time without the keyboard choking on the signal load.

It isn't quite at the level of some more hardcore keyboards out there, but still more than enough. Even two people should be able to share a keyboard when playing fighting games without any inconvenience.

Moving on, CM Storm equipped the trigger with CHERRY MX Black switches, which let keys withstand many presses. The tactile feedback is just a bonus.

As for aesthetics and ease of use, the company tossed in a detachable wrist rest, non-slip rubber coating and red LED backlighting (can highlight all the keys at once or just the WASD buttons).

Finally, 64 KB of onboard memory can be used for the programming of five macro keys, while multi-media controls enable the modification of audio volume on the fly.

Sales should start by the end of this month, for the price of 129.95 Euro. That's $171.50, give or take, based on exchange rates.
