Gamers need to play the titles to make a good decision

Johan Andersson, the leading developer at Paradox Interactive, says that all video games should offer a demo version that’s substantial enough to make sure that players get a clear idea of the experience they will have once they buy the full product.

He tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun that, “if a game is on sale for a few dollars, it may not be as important, since that amount of money may be trivial. But if you are debating spending 40€ or more on a title you are not 100% sure about, then I know that I´d definitely like a demo, before I spend my money.”

The article goes on to investigate the reasons that some developers give for not offering a trial version of their product.

Andersson also says that his team needs only a few hours to create a demo for Europa Universalis IV and for Crusader Kings II.
