As part of the company’s conference call with investors that revealed Microsoft’s third quarter financial results, the tech giant also announced that CFO Peter Klein would leave the firm in June at the end of the current fiscal year.

After 11 years in the company, Peter Klein has decided to retire, even though no details have been provided on this transition. Microsoft, however, stated that a new CFO would be named from its finance leadership team in the next several weeks.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Peter as CFO,” CEO Steve Ballmer said during the conference call. “He’s been a key member of my leadership team and a strategic advisor to me, and I wish him the very best.”

Peter Klein joined Microsoft in 2002, holding the role of chief financial officer for the Server and Tools division before eventually getting promoted to corporate vice president and CFO of the Business unit. He was officially named Microsoft CFO in 2009.
