Are supposed to serve entry-level systems and digital signage, among other things

We have already written about Intel's new mini-ITX motherboards that can serve consumers, so that only leaves three more to take note of.

As revealed by Intel's website, the D2700DC and DN2800MT aren't the only small platforms that the chip giant developed for the Cedar Trail CPU series.

The other three bear the names of D2500CC, D2500HN and D2700MUD.

The D2500HN is the least feature-packed, but also the least expensive, at 63 Euro, or $80, according to exchange rates.

Otherwise known as Houlton, it uses an Atom D2500 CPU and two SO-DIMM memory slots, allowing for up to 4 GB of RAM (DDR3-1600).

One will also discover a PCI slot, two SATA ports, USB 2.0 support, a PCI Express Mini Card, a parallel port, serial and parallel headers, Gigabit Ethernet and stereo audio, plus D-sub.

The newcomer is supposed to sell best in developing countries, as a low-end desktop platform.

The second board, called D2500CC (Canoe Creek), supports the same Atom D2500 and is made for industrial applications and digital signage.

It has many things in common with the D2500HN, though a different layout and a LVDS connector, plus two Gigabit Ethernet ports instead of just one.

Furthermore, Intel gave it 5.1-channel audio, two PS/2 ports, a DVI output, plus two serial ports,

Finally, the D2700MUD (Mount Union) has a faster CPU (Atom D2700), support for the same amount of RAM (4GB, 1600 MHz), 5.1-channel audio, two serial headers, a parallel port, one PCI Conventional Bus Connector, LVDS and mini PCI Express, plus USB and a DVI port (replaces the serial port on the back panel).

The D2500CC should be shipping at a price of 76.95 Euro ($98), while the D2700MUD and D2500HN sell for 74.95 Euro ($95) and (as mentioned above) 63 Euro ($80), respectively.
