The displays have screen sizes of 55 to 65 inches

Like so many other companies, Panasonic is attending the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. Also like many companies, Panasonic has brought along a whole bunch of TV sets, old and new.

Among the new ones happen to be nine models run not by Android operating system, but by Mozilla's Firefox OS.

These panels are spread through the CX850, CX800, CX650 and CX600 families.

Hardware-wise, the LCDs have higher brightness than normal (still adjustable of course), a wider color gamut, and fairly thin profiles, plus double-sided stands.

The software is the important part though. Firefox OS allows owners to customize bookmark pins, browse through live TV channels, browse through connected devices, access streaming services and the Internet, etc.

Basically, what you'd expect from a Smart TV, plus the added bookmark pin customization.

The displays are available, or will be available, in sizes of 55 to 65 inches, with dark grey or black stands and black frames as well.

Unfortunately, while you can find the newcomers on display at CES 2015 in Las Vegas right now, the sales date and prices are unknown, which means we'll have to wait for retailers to make a move.

If nothing else, they'll be a lot cheaper than ludicrous inventions like LG's 77-Inch UHD OLED Flexible TV.
