Since chips and circuitry has become so very small these days, products can wind up with a lot more space inside their plastic or metal cases, which opens doors for the addition of extra features and, in this case, hybridization.

D-Link has launched the world's first portable 11AC router and charger.

In addition to making a wired or satellite-based Internet connection available to a whole bunch of Wi-Fi devices at once, it can recharge mobile electronics as well if needed.

Its full name is Wi-Fi AC750 Portable Router and Charger (DIR-510L) and, as is implied, the performance is of 750 Mbps, 300 Mbps over 2.4 GHz and 450 Mbps over the 5 GHz band.

The capacity of the integrated battery is of 4000 mAh, enough to replenish the energy of even a tablet.

D-Link has priced the Wi-Fi AC750 Portable Router and Charger at $99.99 / €99.99.
