As expected, US-based carrier T-Mobile confirmed it would bring the LG G Flex curved smartphone to its customers in the coming months.

During LG's press conference at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014, Frank Lee announced his company would introduce the G Flex in the United States via three major carriers: AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

According to T-Mobile, customers who choose to get the G Flex on its network will be able to pair it with the Simple Choice Plan, which offers unlimited talk, text and Web as well as unlimited text and data in more than 100 countries, at no extra charge.

The G Flex is LG's first curved and flexible smartphone. The device measures 160.5 x 81.6 x 8.7 mm and weighs 177g (battery included).

The phone's ultra-thin, ultra-light, flexible 6-inch Plastic OLED capacitive touchscreen display supports HD (720p) resolution. The back side of the smartphone features self-healing coating, which means it's capable of removing any light scratches on the battery cover.

LG Mobile has also confirmed the G comes with Rear Key control for “convenience of using one index finger to power the device on or off and adjust volume.”

On the back, the device boasts an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p@60fps) video recording.

The phone is powered by a non-removable 3,500 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is also dubbed world's first curved battery.

Software-wise, LG G Flex will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but we expect the South Korean company to offer an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade at some point later this year.

The phone's software will also include LG-exclusive features such as KnockON, Slide Aside and Qslide Function, which allows users to perform some tasks simultaneously.

New features that haven't been included in an LG smartphone will make their debut in the G Flex such as QuickTheater, which provides users with virtually instant access to entertainment apps.

Dual Window is another new feature that will make its debut within the G Flex. This will divide the wide 6-inch display into two separate windows for more efficient multitasking.

Unfortunately, T-Mobile states that pricing and availability for the LG G Flex will be shared in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
