The next Consumer Electronics Show (CES) trade fair is to take place between 7-10 January in Las Vegas and many major handset makers are expected to make important announcements next year.

However, it has become usual for companies like Sony, Samsung, HTC and LG to launch their new products a few days earlier than the trade fair’s debut.

This has happened before many times and it will happen again next year at CES. Some of the most important brands in the smartphone market have already confirmed that they will hold press conferences one day ahead of CES 2014’s opening.

Usually, a few days before the trade fair kicks off, only the press has access to the showroom, which is why attendees prefer to make official announcements at that time.

Next year, at least five major companies well known for their Android devices, plan to announce new products on January 6. According to the official CES catalog, Huawei, LG, Samsung and Sony will make official announcements on January 6, 2014.

Each of these companies is expected to unveil new Android products, smartphones and tablets. Asus has also been confirmed to hold a press conference on the same day, where new tablets and hybrid devices (phone/tablet) are likely to be announced.

While we do know that Sony plans to launch more Android smartphones, including the illusive Xperia Z1 mini, there’s no info on what’s to come from the other handset makers.

Although previous rumors have suggested that Samsung might have been forced to announce its next Galaxy S flagship at CES 2014, new info has surfaced pointing to a MWC 2014 reveal in February.

LG G2’s successor may be announced at CES 2014 as well, while Huawei is expected to launch some affordable and high-end smartphones and tablets. More details will probably leak in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for additional info.
