It looks like Samsung is taking into consideration the release of a combo device that will include both a smartphone and a tablet, which will be sold together.

Although these are only speculations, there might be some truth in it as the South Korean company recently trademarked a device called Samsung Hit, which is filed under three categories: digital cameras, tablets and smartphones.

According to Dutch site kopengalaxys5, the hybrid might have already leaked but we did not know the device in question is the Samsung Hit and not the Galaxy S5.

Apparently both the smartphone and the tablet being part of this hybrid device popped up in benchmarks with different codenames, such as Samsung SM-G900A, SM-G900F/ and SM-G900S.

These models have been reported as various Galaxy S5 prototypes being tested by Samsung, but they may be in fact totally different devices.

The cited source claims the Samsung Hit tablet is likely to feature a large display that supports a stunning 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, while the smartphone will sport a full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display.

Both devices have been spotted in various benchmarks such as AnTuTu and GFXbenchmark, so there's likely that these are real Android smartphones/tablets.

Word on Samsung work on a smartphone docked to tablet surfaced earlier this year when details about a certain “Patent Bolt” leaked online.

However, we did no have enough information at that time, but the latest info seem be little pieces of a much larger puzzle.

The new hybrid device will surely compete with Asus PadFone models, though we're not yet sure how competitive Samsung's smartphone/tablet combo will be price wise.

We will probably know more in the next couple of weeks, as Samsung Hit (or whatever the name) is expected to be unveiled at CES 2014 trade fair. Stay tuned for more details on these rumors.
