As expected Samsung has announced the next-gen Ativ Book9 at the CES 2014 trade show in Las Vegas. The lappy will be available in Solid Black coloring, but the price availability hasn’t been disclosed so far.

So meet Sammy’s new 15.6-inch notebook (via Tech2) which sports a pretty fabulous 1920 x 1080 screen resolution (with 20% brighter and 125% higher definition than the previous generation).

Customers can opt for an Intel Core i5 or Intel i7 UVL processor to go under the hood, complete with Intel HD 4400 Graphics, 8GB of RAM and 1024GB in SSD storage. Samsung has also packed the offering with 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, HDMI out, a mini VGA port, RJ45 Ethernet port and a security lock slot.

The keyboard of the notebook has also been improved to provide a better performance and ergonomic certification. The new Ativ will ship with SPlayer+ (an lossless audio player that works in concert with a Wolfson DAC chip).

As for operating systems, the new Ativ Book 9 comes bundled with Windows 8 out of the box. One thing still unknown is whether the laptop will feature a touch-screen or not, but I guess we’ll see soon enough.
