Chip maker Qualcomm appears set to prove to the world that its latest mobile processor out there, namely the Snapdragon 805, can deliver a nice range of updated capabilities, including some aimed at camera enthusiasts out there.

The company will bring its latest SoC at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, but it has already started to showcase the capabilities of the product.

For that, it published three videos on YouTube, so as to demonstrate some of the main camera features of the aforementioned processor, namely Chroma Flash, Action Shot and OptiZoom.

As IntoMobile notes, these videos were published on January 3, only a few days before CES 2014 kicked off. All three can be seen embedded below, each focused on one of said features.

“The Snapdragon 805 processor can improve the quality of flash photography by almost simultaneously taking a flash and a non-flash version of the same subject matter and combining the 2 images in the most optimal way,” Qualcomm notes in the description of the first video.

The Action Shot functionality of Snapdragon 805 processors allows users to lock onto objects and track them within the frame, the company explains.

“Once an object is identified and locked you can set a line onscreen and once the object crosses that line, it will begin capturing video,” the chip maker notes.

The OptiZoom feature was also designed to allow locking onto objects to track them, only that it will also offer enhanced legibility of text and sharpness, the company explains. Thus, users will be able to automatically zoom into objects even when they are moving.

You can watch the aforementioned video demos below. In case you’re in Las Vegas, you should also swing by Qualcomm’s booth to enjoy a live demo of these capabilities of the Snapdragon 805 processor.
