Social network websites are more than popular nowadays and everyone wants to keep their friends updated with the latest events by posting new statuses, comments, and pictures even when on the go.

With quite a tradition for instant film cameras behind, Polaroid has announced at this year's first important international electronics show, CES 2014, a new digital camera capable to instantly connect and share your photos via major social media networks.

The Polaroid Socialmatic camera uniquely blends digital photography with instant printing in one single camera body. Featuring a 14MP smart camera as the main shooter and a 2MP rear camera, the Socialmatic is able instantly capture, print, and share any important moment in your life.

In addition to that, the new Polaroid camera features built-in Wi-Fi that allows you to immediately post your images on the most popular social networking websites (Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest). If Wi-Fi is not available, the camera can easily connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth, enabling you to share your photos from practically anywhere.

Under the hood we can find an Android-powered operating system that provides customers with a familiar, easy to use interface, as well as a wide range of applications via Google Play. Among other features we can find a 4.5'' touchscreen LCD display, LED flash, 4GB internal storage, as well as Micro SD card support.

For printing, Socialmatic uses the Zero Ink Printing technology by ZINK Imaging, which allows you to instantly print and share your photos using ink-free ZINK Paper.

“We are very excited about the partnership with Socialmatic and the pending launch of this remarkable camera,” said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid. “Polaroid was the original social network: allowing people to instantly capture, print and share life’s moments in a way that had never been possible before.”

The camera will be available in two colors (white and black) and will be released in fall 2014. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.
