Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Sony, Sigma have already made quite a few announcements regarding their lineup for this year's International CES show.

After we stumbled upon the first leaked specs for Nikon's new entry-level DSLR, the D3300, today the company officially announced the new camera as well as the revamped kit lens, the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II.

The D3300 comes equipped with a 24.2MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 4 image processor capable of delivering great image quality even in low-light shooting conditions. The sensor has no optical low pass filter (OLPF) to boost resolution and image fidelity. In addition to that, the camera is now capable of capturing up to 5 frames per second (4fps on the D3200) in continuous shooting mode.

In terms of video capabilities, the Nikon D3300 is able to capture 1080p Full HD video footage with vivid color, sharp details, and full-time AF assistance, up to 60 frames per second.

ISO sensitivity has also been improved on the new model, which is now capable of using up to ISO25,600 to make sure you have your shot in any lighting conditions.

Nikon D3300 is now compatible with the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter that allows you to instantly share your image and HD videos to any smart device via Wi-Fi. The same device also enables you to remotely control your camera using a smart device as a portable “Live View” monitor.

Another interesting feature of Nikon D3300 is the new Easy Panorama Mode, which allows you to capture astounding landscapes easily by panning the camera across the scene. The Guide Mode has also been improved and now offers step-by-step indications on how to use the basic functions of your camera.

The Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lens kit will be available in black, red, and gray starting February 2014, at a suggested retail price of $649.95 / €477. The lens will also be sold separately, at a price of $249.95 / €183.
