The company wants to be a part of the tablet market as well

Mozilla has already shown some Firefox OS enhanced smartphones at CES 2014 and has also announced its plans to enter the high-end smartphone market with two models that are yet to come.

But that’s not all Mozilla has in stores for 2014. As it turns out, the company is also targeting the tablet sector (who isn't these days), so it has announced a new Fire OS tablet developer program that will provide interested parties with hardware references and more.

Mozilla wants to get started on the tablet business, immediately after CES and they hope to finish off the project by the end of the year.

Judging by the image snapped by Engadget, the tablet and the UI will sport a pretty minimalist look and bundle pretty mid-range specifications. Another hint towards this theory is that Mozilla has already parented up with VIA technologies in order to release a line of mini PC with a sub $100 / €73 price tag.

Is it possible that we’re going to see $100 / €73 Firefox tablets on the market this year, too?
