14 DAY TRIAL // CES 2014 is almost over and today it’s your last chance to see what the major camera and optics manufacturers have prepared to launch in the next months.
We've seen quite a few interesting announcements at the year's first important international electronics show, including Fujifilm's weather-resistant 50x FinePix S1, Nikon D4S, Panasonic GH 4K, or Sony A5000, which is currently the smallest and lightest interchangeable-lens camera on the market.
US-based company Liquid Image, known for its action cameras especially designed for various action sports or scuba diving, has also presented a few new camera models, among which we can find the Ego LS, a small digital camera that can stream photos and 1080p Full HD videos via a 4G LTE network.
Moreover, the company also revealed two new goggle cameras, one for winter sports (ski, snowboard etc.) and the other for capturing video footage while swimming or freediving.
Besides that, Liquid Image has unveiled two new camera masks designed for scuba diving enthusiasts as part of its Hydra Series. Model 326 is a high-end camera mask that comes equipped with a 136-degree wide-angle lens and is capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 60 frames per second (fps) and 720p HD video at 120fps.
In addition to that, Model 326 features an improved sensor, lens, and DSP (digital signal processor) that allows the camera to capture even more details with less image noise. The new Hydra series camera can be submerged to a depth of up to 40m / 130ft and can hold a micro SDXC card up to 64GB. Model 326 will ship starting May at a price of $349.99 / €257.
On the other hand, Model 305 comes with the same 136-degree wide-angle lens, but it can record only 720p HD videos at 30fps and VGA (640x480) footage at 60fps. Furthermore, it comes with the same depth rating, can hold up a micro SDHC card up to 32GB, and has a battery performance of over 2.5 hours of video footage. Model 305 comes with a suggested retail price of $119.99 / €88 and will start shipping in May this year.
