Shortly after AT&T announced that it would exclusively carry the Asus PadFone X in the United States, the Taiwanese handset maker officially introduced a new lineup of affordable Android smartphones called ZenFone.

ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 are the first smartphones in the new series that will make it to the market. According to Asus, they will be available in various colors for $100 (€75), $150 (€110) and $200 (€145), respectively.

In addition, Asus unveiled a clean, simple to use ZenUI. The new user interface is exclusive to ASUS smartphones and features “simplified icons and menus, a selection of themes beautifully designed to match the device colors and a clever ‘What’s Next’ feature that helps users keep track of their lives.”

All ZenFone smartphones announced during Asus' press conference are powered by Intel Atom chipsets and run Android operating system.

Asus ZenFone 4 has been confirmed to pack a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display and a decent enough 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Quad-Thread Hyper-Threading technology.

On the back, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel main camera, while in the front, there's a secondary camera for video calls. Zenfone 4 will be available on the market in 5 vibrant colors: Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue and Solar Yellow.

Next in line, the ZenFone 5 comes with a slightly larger 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display featuring exclusive ASUS PenTouch and GloveTouch technologies, which increase sensitivity.

Hardware-wise, the handset is equipped with a fast, energy-efficient Intel Atom Z2580 processor clocked at 2GHz. ZenFone 5 also boasts a better 8-megapixel PixelMaster main camera with image stabilization and a backside-illumination (BSI) sensor and wide-aperture f/2.0 lens with exclusive ASUS PixelMaster technology.

ZenFone 5 is available in four color options: Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Champagne Gold.

Last but not least, ZenFone 6 sports a huge 6-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display that features GloveTouch and PenTouch technologies. It comes equipped with the same Intel Atom Z2580 processor running at 2GHz.

The phone also packs an impressive 13-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front camera for high-resolution video calls. ZenFone 6 has been confirmed to arrive in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Champagne Gold.
