It will let you reduce the viewing angle whenever you want

Viewing angles are something that people usually want to see increase, but they are conveniently overlooked in the case of curved TVs and, in this case, bendable TVs.

Samsung brought quite a bunch of things to the Consumer Electronics Show, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Among the items on display, there is an ultra high-definition television set that is not only curved, but can curve further when you press a specific button.

It's only labeled “85-inch bending TV” for now, but should get an actual moniker and part number soon.

Then again, it might not. After all, while bendability is a nice enough curiosity, actually narrowing the viewing angle isn't exactly the best thing for something which, presumably, will have several people lined up in front of it. Samsung may have made it as proof of concept and nothing more.

Still, rumors of such a product have been around since last year, so it's likely that we actually will see it in stores sometime.

UPDATE: I've finally learned that the TV is called Samsung U9B and will, indeed, be available this year. Its bending ability lets it turn form flat-panel to curved mode.
