It uses LCD technology instead of the significantly more expensive OLED

Anyone that will be in Las Vegas, Nevada, between tomorrow and Friday (January 7 to 10, 2014) will be able to visit LG's booth at the Consumer Electronics Show and behold the large 105-inch Curved Ultra HD TV.

Based on liquid crystal display technology instead of OLED (which probably can't do well in this size yet), it still hasn't been given a price, and that might be a good thing for our faint hearts.

The main asset is the resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 pixels (just shy of 21:9 aspect ratio), but it is not the only one.

Indeed, LG has also installed HDMI 2.0, USB and LAN ports and even support for h.264 and HEVC video formats.

Last but definitely not least, the Curved UHD TV has a large “Ultra Surround” 7.2-channel forward-facing speaker (made by Harman Kardon).
